On July 12, 1999 Robert V. Macklin became the ninth President of The Milford Bank in its 126 year history. Follow this
link for his President's Message in Annual Report. Mr. Macklin comes to The Milford Bank with a strong community banking background and extensive Internet banking experience. Prior to The Milford Bank, Mr. Macklin was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Village Bank & Trust Company, a community bank with offices in Ridgefield, Westport, Wilton, Danbury and New Milford, Conn. During his tenure at The Village Bank, assets increased 120 percent. Internet banking was introduced in 1997 and was popular with many of the banks customers. He has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. "I truly enjoyed the special customer service advantages a community bank can provide. At The Milford Bank my door will always be open to every customer. Also, I look forward to continuing The Milford Banks longstanding tradition of community support and involvement. Since there are no shareholders, our loyalties belong to our customers and our community," Mr. Macklin said. Mr. Macklin has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Villanova University and a Master of Science degree in administration from Western Connecticut State University. He is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University and the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colo. He is a Certified Financial Planner. Mr. Macklin currently serves as a member of the Government Relations Council and the Mutuality Advisory Council of the American Bankers Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Boys Village and a member of the Milford Rotary Club.
