"What exactly is CDARS?" you may ask.
CDARS, or Certificate of Deposit Registry Service, is a deposit placement service offered by Promontory Interfinancial Network. It enables banks like The Milford Bank to offer up to $50 million in federal deposit insurance converage to customers, allowing you to keep all of your deposits in one bank.
When you make a large deposit into your CDARS Account, the bank arranges to place the funds into certificates of deposit at other network banks. The certificates are issued in increments of less than $250,000 to ensure that both principal and interest are eligible for full FDIC protection. Deposits placed through CDARS meet the pass-through insurance converage guidelines established by the FDIC.
With CDARS, we can offer you significant benefits such as:
- The safety and security of FDIC insurance for large deposits
- CD interest rates that may compare favorably with other investment alternatives
- Interest-payment flexibility
- Convenience of managing all of your CD investments together
- The security of working with people you know and trust right here at The Milford Bank
- All account statements are sent to you by The Milford Bank
You must enter into a Deposit Placement Agreement, which contains important information and conditions regarding the placement of funds by us through CDARS. Please read the agreement carefully. CDARS and Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service are service marks of Promontory Interfinancial Network, LLC.
